Lord Selkirk Park- Resource Centre Coordinator

North End Community Renewal Corporation is a non-profit organization with the mandate of social, economic, and cultural renewal of the north end of Winnipeg. The organization is seeking a Resource Centre Coordinator to coordinate activities and to assist with the daily operation of the Resource Centre located at Lord Selkirk Park.

Reporting to the Community Development Director, the Resource Centre Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • On-site: Overseeing daily drop-in services and activities and operation of the Resource Centre
  • Assisting community members with general advocacy, referrals and information access
  • Developing and maintaining a volunteer network 
  • Working with existing staff to develop, plan and implement programs, activities and events at the Centre
  • Promoting capacity building/ employment opportunities for community members and volunteers
  • Conducting outreach into the community, and to engage neighbourhood residents 
  • Administrative duties: proposal writing, interim and final reports, budget


Qualifications:

A diploma/degree in the social sciences or equivalent education and experience
Experience working in the inner-city
Familiarity with the Lord Selkirk Park neighbourhood
Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently, and as part of a team
Training and experience in handling crisis and conflict
Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Windows XP and Microsoft Office applications
A commitment to building strong and healthy families and communities
Some evening work required

Salary range: $30,000- $32,000 + benefits
