18 May, 2016 to 20 May, 2016

Co-hosts the Canadian Community Economic Development Network (CCEDNet), and the Community Economic Development and Employability Corporation (CEDEC), invite you to attend Canada’s leading national community economic development conference. ECONOUS2016 will bring together a diverse range of representatives from the community, business, education, charitable, and government sectors to discuss new ideas, resources and strategies to strengthen community economic development (CED) and small business growth across Canada.

The National Conference will be hosted in Montréal at Hotel Bonaventure, May 18 to May 20.

  • Connect with hundreds of people across Canada who share a passion for building strong, inclusive community economies.
  • Learn from others about strategies that are working to generate positive local economic, social and environmental impacts in communities across Canada and elsewhere.
  • Share what your priorities are, from addressing workforce development needs to revitalizing your community and more.
  • Leave empowered to make a difference in your community and in your workplace through the relationships you've developed with other participants and the new knowledge you'll have gained.

  • Community Economic Development (CED) is action by people locally to create economic opportunities that improve social conditions, particularly for those who are most disadvantaged.
  • CED is an approach that recognizes that economic, environmental and social challenges are interdependent, complex and ever-changing.
  • To be effective, solutions must be rooted in local knowledge and led by community members. CED promotes holistic approaches, addressing individual, community and regional levels, recognizing that these levels are interconnected.
