Spark - Expectations of Volunteers and Community Groups

Throughout the match process community groups and organizations work together with volunteers who have specialized skills, often in new ways that are interesting and challenging. Listed below are the basic ground rules and expectations that community groups, those volunteering their skills, and Spark agree to use.

What is expected from Volunteers with Specialized Skills?

  • To be open, honest, and respectful throughout this process.
  • That the agreed upon technical assistance will be delivered in a timely manner.
  • That all information from Spark and the community group or organization will be handled with confidentiality.
  • That the technical assistance will support the agreed upon project, and will also help to improve the capacity of the community goup or organization.
  • Completing the confidential evaluation.
  • Letting Spark know how the project turned out. We want to celebrate your successes with you.

What is expected from Community Groups or Organizations?

  • To be open, honest, respectful, and realistic about the project throughout this process. Projects that are well thought out and planned are most likely to achieve the intended results.
  • Ensuring that all information about your organization provided to Spark and the skilled volunteer is current and accurate.
  • Ensuring that the technical assistance is appropriate and relevant.
  • Treating all information from Spark and the volunteer with confidentiality.
  • Completing the confidential evaluation.
  • Letting Spark know how the project turned out. We want to celebrate your successes with you.

What is expected from Spark?

  • That Spark will be involved throughout the technical assistance process.
  • That community groups and volunteers will receive the support and information from Spark that they need to make the technical assistance work effectively.
