Host:
Black Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (BEKH)

Event Type:
Conference, Virtual

On behalf of the Co-Directors of the Black Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (BEKH), Dr. Gerald Grant and Isaac Olowolafe, you are cordially invited to the Black Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub’s upcoming symposium, “Researching Black Entrepreneurship in Canada,” on November 17 and 18, 2022 at the Sprott Business School, located in the Nicol Building at Carleton University. The symposium will be a full day hybrid event, both in-person and virtual on Thursday November 17, 2022, and a half-day on Friday November 18, 2022.

Through our “Researching Black Entrepreneurship in Canada” symposium, we seek to:

1. Understand the scope and current state of Black entrepreneurship in Canada;

2. Define the research agenda through identifying gaps and under-explored topics concerning Black entrepreneurship;

3. Attract academic and community researchers to undertake research on Black entrepreneurship in Canada;

4. Receive contributions for guiding the development of the large-scale quantitative, qualitative, and network mapping studies as required in the funding agreement for the BEKH program;

5. Raise awareness about the opportunities for participation in co-creating community-based research relevant to the Black entrepreneurial community.

We seek participation from academic and community-based researchers, organizations serving Black entrepreneurs in Canada and entrepreneurs.
