Humaira Jaleel is the founder and Executive Director of Healthy Muslim Families. An immigrant to Canada, a community builder, a women empowerment leader, and a law student at the University of Manitoba. Her time is divided between running the non-profit organization she founded and leading community projects. Some of the projects she leads are Support for Victims of Domestic Violence in the Muslim Community, the Restorative Justice (Court Diversion) program, Refugee Claimant Legal Clinics, and the Access to Justice for Racialized Communities. Humaira has led multiple community-based research. A few of them are ‘Mental Health of the Manitoba Muslims’, ‘Support for Muslims with Disabilities,’ ‘Understanding Domestic Violence in the Manitoba Muslim Community,’ and ‘Experiences of Muslim Women with Employment.’
