Jonathan has worked for over 20 years to help social enterprises get started, grow and tell their story. Based in Glasgow, he is Founding Director of Social Value Lab – Scotland’s Centre for Social Enterprise Research & Development – an organization recognized for its pioneering work on social impact measurement. In his early career, he set up and managed some of Scotland’s first area-based social enterprise support programs and has gone on to lead the evaluation of many of main policy and funding programs in the country. More recently he has been responsible for the design and management of Scotland’s first Social Enterprise Census in 2015, and led on the consultation and writing of Scotland’s recent 10-year Social Enterprise Strategy. Jonathan works in Scotland, across the UK and internationally – advising governments and leading nonprofits on issues relating to social enterprise strategy, performance and impact.
