Mr. Mickel Robertson is a member of the Innu community of Uashat mak Mani-Utenam and an economist by training. Based on several years of experience as a commercial banker, he, over the past few years, held various functions within the Royal Bank of Canada, including the post of Commercial Account Manager and responsible for First Nations market in Quebec. Mr. Robertson is the Director General of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Economic Development Commission (FNQLEDC) since September, 2016. The FNQLEDC is a Wendake based organization devoted to the support and the training of CEDO, first nation entrepreneurs and communities of Quebec and Labrador. The FNQLEDC also serves as the economic development arm of the Assembly of First Nations Quebec Labrador. Mr. Robertson is also serving as director on the board of the Chantier de l’économie social, a non-profit organization devoted to social economy, and as president of New Pathways Foundation, a foundation devoted to the first nation youth’s development and well being.

M. Mickel Robertson est membre de la communauté innue de Uashat mak Mani-Utenam et il est économiste de formation. Fort de plusieurs années d’expérience en tant que banquier commercial, il a occupé divers postes au sein de la Banque Royale du Canada, notamment celui de directeur des comptes commerciaux et de responsable du marché des Premières Nations au Québec. M. Robertson est directeur général de la Commission de développement économique des Premières Nations du Québec et du Labrador (CDEPNQL) depuis septembre 2016. La CDEPNQL est une organisation basée à Wendake qui se consacre au soutien et à la formation des agents de développement économique communautaire, des entrepreneurs des Premières Nations et des communautés du Québec et du Labrador. La CDEPNQL est également le “bras” développement économique de l’Assemblée des Premières Nations du Québec et du Labrador. M. Robertson siège également au conseil d’administration du Chantier de l’économie sociale, une organisation à but non lucratif dédiée à l’économie sociale et il est président de la Fondation Nouveaux Sentiers, une fondation dédiée au développement des jeunes des Premières Nations.
