Job Overview
The Program Manager is a key leader at Break The Divide, driving the execution and impact of our core programs, including the Climate Emotions Connection Program. This full-time role is ideal for a dynamic, highly organized individual passionate about youth empowerment and environmental action. The Program Manager will be one of the foundational executive members of the team, coordinating program development, overseeing day-to-day operations, and ensuring strategic alignment with Break The Divide’s mission to foster community resilience and empower youth nationwide.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Social Media, Storytelling, and Marketing (20%)
- Support program outreach through social media and other channels to drive community engagement and enrollment.
- Manage social media volunteer team, ensuring consistent content creation.
2. Program Design & Development (25%)
- Lead the design, iteration, and delivery of climate emotions programming in high schools across Saskatchewan.
- Resource Development: Conduct research on climate emotions, climate action, identity, and community-related topics; build PDF and video resources and curriculum, lesson plans, and school activities.
- Workshop Delivery Support: Developing workshop content for staff team to deliver climate emotions related workshops in high schools across Saskatchewan.
3. Relationship Building & Partner Development (20%)
- Build strong, enduring relationships with schools, students, teachers, administrators, and stakeholders in Saskatchewan; maintain consistent communication to support program success and participant satisfaction.
- Engage with Break The Divide’s educational and programming partners to enhance program reach and foster collaboration.
4. Impact Evaluation & Metrics Analysis (15%)
- Support Executive Director to conduct impact evaluation study of program effectiveness. design metrics and evaluation tools to assess program effectiveness and impact.
- Create program and impact reports to track and share program successes.
- Conduct impact reviews, interviews, surveys, and focus groups with program participants to improve programming and resources.
- Use research findings to enhance program relevance and meet evolving needs of communities served.
5. Volunteer Recruitment & Management (20%)
- Recruit, onboard, and train volunteers, providing support to empower them as dialogue facilitators and climate emotions community ambassadors.
- Manage volunteer community, facilitating opportunities for positive leadership-development.
6. Strategic Planning and Team Support & Execution (Ongoing with team)
- Support leadership team in strategic planning on all major programming goals; track progress on strategic initiatives and guide the team in achieving measurable outcomes.
- Organize meeting notes, documents, emails, and agendas to keep communications transparent and on track.
- Provide operational support across team tasks, ensuring collaboration and alignment across programs.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Education: Undergraduate degree or relevant experience in climate, environment, mental health, education, or related fields.
- Experience in Education: Experience in formal or informal education, with a strong understanding of classroom environments and working with school districts, administrators or teachers, is an asset.
- Experience in Resource Development: Experience in resource building or curriculum development is an asset.
- Social Media Experience: Experience and interest in social media, marketing, communications, and storytelling
Competencies and Skills:
- Collaborative Team Player: Strong relationship-building skills with team and partners, with experience in managing tasks collaboratively.
- Self-Starter with Passion: Driven by a passion for youth empowerment and environmental justice; thrives in independent and dynamic environments; ability to execute tasks autonomously.
- Remote Work & Communication Skills: Proficient in remote communication tools and adaptable to virtual work environments.
- Organization: Ability to implement and monitor effective workflow processes and procedures; skills in online organization and task management.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate information needs as situations develop, to think and problem solve creatively.
- Communication: Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Bilingualism (English and French) would be a valuable asset
- Resource & Program Development: Skilled in developing and executing impactful educational programs and resources.
- Impact Evaluation & Market Research: Experienced in impact evaluation and feedback collection for continuous improvement.
- Social Media: Nimbleness with technology and online communications and engagement tools including social media, websites and other technology platforms.
Salary, Work Environment, and Benefits:
Salary:
- The salary will depend on skills and experience and will range between $23 – $25 CAD per hour at 35 – 40 hours per week. The contract will be 6 months long with the option to extend, pending organizational factors.
Work Environment:
- Preferred Location: Ideally based near Regina, Saskatchewan; remote candidates across Canada welcome.
- Remote Work & Flexible Hours: Flexibility required to work some evenings and weekends; work from anywhere in Canada
- Optional In-Person Workspace in Regina: For those based near Regina, SK, access to a local co-working space is available.
