Our Speakers:
  • Kirsten Bernas
  • Laura Cameron
    • Laura Cameron is the Director of Program and Strategy for Manitoba’s Climate Action Team. She is also a long-time organizer with the Manitoba Energy Justice Coalition. More about Laura here.
  • Cameron MacLean
    • Cameron MacLean is a journalist for CBC Manitoba living in Winnipeg. He has more than a decade of experience reporting in the city and across Manitoba, covering a wide range of topics, including courts, politics, housing, arts, health and breaking news.

Advocacy Training:

How do we work together to advocate for the province and communities we want? There are many pathways to make change toward our economic, social, and environmental vision for Manitoba.

Our presentations will include practical tips and insights from experience:

  • WHY should community organizations participate in advocacy
  • WHAT has worked well (and what has not worked well)
  • HOW you can work with the media

A bit about the “Tiny Talks” format:

In a small group, you will hear each speaker share practical tips and insights about Advocacy. Our speakers will share the same presentation with each group.

After hearing each speaker, we will come together for 30 minutes to reflect, share, and commit to action.
