Julie Chamberlain has been teaching about community development and community-based knowledge creation for over a decade, training students and community researchers in Toronto, Hamburg, and Winnipeg. She is Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban and Inner-City Studies at the University of Winnipeg, where she teaches about community development and planning, doing urban research, and inner-city environmental justice.
She’s currently doing community-based research about Community Safety Hosts, the impact of small grants in the North End, and implementing anti-oppressive approaches to safety in South Valour. Find out more about her work at juliechamberlain.org
