Katie Daman (they/she) loves board games, laying in the grass, reading, talking about and eating food, being in a canoe, and spending time with friends, among other things. They are a settler living in Treaty 1 territory, Winnipeg, and raised in rural Manitoba. Katie believes in the importance of advocating for systems and actions that will stop harming our communities – the places where we live, eat, work, and play. 

Katie is a co-founder and past co-chair of Fireweed Food Co-op, currently sits on board of the Canadian CED Network, and is the Project Manager on two projects with Food and Beverage Manitoba: the Food Ecosystems Project and Northern Arts and Food Collaboration. She loves co-conspiring, collaborating, and learning from others on anything related to our food system. 

Other experiences include working with Community Futures Manitoba, West End Commons, Pollock’s Hardware Co-op, and the South Osborne Farmers’ Market.
