What does it really take to build safe, healthy and resilient communities?
At The Gathering 2026, we’ll look beyond traditional ideas of safety to explore the relationships, resources, opportunities, systems and collective action that help people and communities thrive.
Expect thought-provoking conversations, storytelling, practical workshops and opportunities to learn across sectors. Explore how community-centred investment, meaningful employment, housing stability, climate adaptation, social enterprise and collective care can strengthen well-being, economic security and resilience.
We will begin in a good way with Elder Mae Louise Campbell, grounding us in Indigenous wisdom, teachings, and ceremony as we come together to explore the theme for this year. We will then hear from Levi A. Foy (Manidoogwiiwezens), whose work in harm reduction, homelessness, and community-led programming brings vital perspectives on dignity, belonging, and the conditions that enable people and communities to thrive.
Whether you work in community, government, non-profit, academia or business, The Gathering offers space to challenge assumptions, build relationships and discover practical approaches for collective action.
NEW THIS YEAR: Introduction to Breathwork offers practical, immediately usable tools for self-awareness, relaxation and maintaining focus under pressure.
Come ready to listen, question, connect—and leave with ideas you can put into action.
