About the Course

As funders and supporters increasingly prioritize organizations that demonstrate measurable and impactful outcomes, a properly implemented impact measurement strategy can enhance stakeholder engagement and plays a crucial role in accessing funding opportunities. And, it’s easier than you think! 

Join us in this highly interactive two-day course, where you will learn to use essential impact measurement tools such as a Theory of Change and logic models to:

  • select appropriate indicators
  • effectively collect your data
  • analyze your results for optimal use
  • share your results in engaging and impactful ways  

Outcomes from the program include:

  1. Understanding the concepts and usefulness of measuring your organization’s impact
  2. Exploring what activities you would like to measure and how best to demonstrate your organization’s impact
  3. Considering creative ways to articulate your impact and embed a culture of measurement

Understanding Social Impact Measurement blends group discussions, hands-on activities, case studies, and self and open reflections to equip learners with practical insights and tools for easy application of essential social impact measurement practices within their own organizations.

About the Facilitator

Sarah Leeson-Klym is the Associate Director for the Canadian CED Network. Previously, she was the Network’s Director of Regional & Strategic Initiatives and she began at CCEDNet Manitoba, hosting learning events or programs to build strength and knowledge in the field. Throughout these roles, she has facilitated conference sessions, workshops, and courses for CCEDNet on a variety of topics ranging from social enterprise development, financial sustainability, and understanding the basics of community economic development. She is currently completing a Masters of Adult Education at St. Francis-Xavier University. Sarah has worked with practitioners and governments to consider the role of impact measurement in our fields and can’t wait to dive into this topic together with our learners.
