Join SETSI at the Sustainable World Finance Forum 2024, where innovation meets responsibility. Let’s shape the future of finance together, promoting sustainability and inclusivity for a better world.
A series of crises threaten the lives and livelihoods of millions of people across the globe. In the vast geographical, political, social and cultural space that the Global South represents, contradictions and complexities of various kinds converge. The fact remains a disproportionate priority of resources, thought leaders and practitioners in various sectors convene in the UK, Canada and the United States to make decisions and generate intellectual property at forums and conferences with a complete disregard for Africa, the birthplace of humanity. As a result social innovation and production in the past and present are sedimented in western mental models & mindsets. In this sense, conferences in the Global South organised by the Sustainable Finance World Forum are imperative and aim to balance the historical exclusion and disregard for colonized and so-called underdeveloped and emerging nations/markets. Our work at the SFWF seeks to open spaces for discussion and reflection on global social policies and their impact on social innovation, justice, access, inclusion, diversity and equity while centering the SDG’s and social transformation.
Sustainable finance has seen trillions of dollars of private sector capital being committed to net zero by 2050, there is also growing pushback against ESG frameworks internationally. We must collectively remain vigilant to innovate and develop practical solutions to regional, legal, political, and macro-economic barriers.
The SFWF24 will bring together leading practitioners, policymakers, regulators, and civil society organizations to examine and reflect on the latest developments in sustainable finance.
Over seven phenomenal days of capacity building and knowledge mobilization SFWF24 aims to facilitate:
